God created rainforests to be our planet's powerhouse.  Though rainforests occupy a tiny percentage of the Earth's surface, half of the planet's terrestrial animals find shelter there.  Rainforest plants are a source of lifesaving medicine. And rainforests are often called 'the lungs of the planet', purifying the air we breathe.

 

Rainforests are a refuge, rich and restorative.  They are life-giving and lifesaving.

Rainforest Falls VBS is coming to LUMC this summer!  It will run 9am-12pm on August 17-21 and will be open to the kids of the local community who are pre-K through entering grade 5.  What is VBS?  It's kind of like a summer camp with super fun activities that bring the lessons of the Bible to life with silly games, cool scienc-y projects , hands on Bible stories and even snacks  that connect to the theme, using a tropical rainforest setting.  The church building will be transformed into a "rainforest"  with tropical vines, foliage, animals, etc., all to help the kids learn about their Creator, who is a refuge and restores us, in a very kid friendly and engaging program.  This is a fun and gentle way to get kids to see God in their lives...no altar calls, no heavy handedness, just a week of having fun and being surrounded in love.

LUMC is an inclusive church and all children are welcome to join us. A registered nurse will be on site all week.
