Outright Gifts

Gifts of cash, appreciated securities, a life insurance policy naming the Leominster United Methodist Church Endowment Fund as your beneficiary or owner of the policy, an IRA or property such as a house, farm, real estate, and works of art or jewelry are all welcome. These are available to the church on an unrestricted or restricted basis.  Their value is tax deductible.

Giving Through Your Will

A will is one of the most important documents you will ever have.  A will is the most commonly used method of making charitable gifts at death, including those to your church, because you can:

§         Specify the distribution of property

§         Direct the timing of distributions

§         Choose the individual or institution to carry out your wishes

§         Select a guardian for minor children

§         Preserve as much of your estate as possible through tax-saving

Giving While Providing for Yourself

With gift annuities you can make certain you have first provided for your own financial needs and those of your loved ones while making a charitable gift. As a benefit, you may increase your income and save taxes!

Gift annuities are agreements between an   individual “donor” and a qualified “charity”.  The donor transfers the assets to the charity in exchange for a fixed payment for the rest of his or her lifetime or a person of their choice.

Life income gifts also come in several other forms such as a Charitable Reminder Trust, Pooled Income Fund, Deferred Gift Annuities, Gift Annuities and Charitable Lead Trusts. The United Methodist Foundation of New England can assist you with establishing any of these types of funds.

Memorial Gifts

You can also make a gift to the Endowment Fund in memory of a loved one or special friend.  This is an opportunity to honor the person’s memory, and also enhance the ability of Leominster United Methodist Church to meet its ministry needs.

In addition, Living Memorial gifts can be given to honor the living by recognizing special events in one’s life or that of a loved one or special friend, such as: a birth, birthday, anniversary, marriage, confirmation, baptism or any other special milestone.
